Hometown Buffet - Davie

This place is really fresh and affordable. Whenever we're in the mood for a fantastic American dinner and are very hungry, we come here. I don’t go to Denny's; instead, I prefer Hometown Buffet.

My kids absolutely love this spot for our Sunday brunch! It has a wide range of brunch dishes at an excellent price, and the little ones can try everything on the menu. It's a fantastic value, the food is decent, and it's a great option for an affordable family dinner!

We decided to check out a new restaurant that opened nearby six weeks ago. Although the name suggests it's a buffet, it also offers steak and seafood, which led me to expect fresh seafood options. Unfortunately, most of the dishes were fried, with the exception of one shrimp dish and some oysters on the half shell. I'm not a fan of either, and the oysters didn't look very appealing to me. The remaining options felt more like comfort food—think meatloaf, fried chicken, and ham. The salad bar was decent but nothing special, and the dessert bar was similar. Overall, it wasn't a total waste of money, but it's not the type of food we typically enjoy.

There is an amazing assortment of food, and everything is really good! The adult price is very reasonable for a buffet of this type and their age determines the child prices. On this visit I paid only $25 for one adult and three kids, including the beverage bar. The baked chicken and carrot cake are my favorites. It’s clean, the staff is very attentive and the kids can roam the buffet on their own. In June I had a birthday dinner there for 6 adults and 5 kids. I arrived with presents and balloons ten minutes early. The manager was very accommodating and quickly set up tables. I tied the balloons to the chairs, put all the presents on the end table, set the places with silverware and napkins, prepared plates of appetizers and was ready for the guests. For the “cake” I placed assorted deserts on a large tray and inserted candles. Everyone had a great time, it was very easy for me and the whole thing cost under $100!
