The Soda Shop - Davidson

The BLT was good. I ordered it with fries, but they brought out homemade chips instead. When I pointed out the mistake, the waitress became defensive and insisted that those were fries. I'll attach a picture, but they are definitely homemade chips. I don't mind the chips, but when a customer asks for fries, the staff should clarify that they're actually more like chips but are called fries on the menu. There is a small note about this on the menu, but I missed it.

We visited with another couple for dessert and were greeted by an incredibly friendly staff. The menu offered a fantastic selection of delicious choices. We tried the apple crisp, dreamsicle float, and coffee ice cream, all of which were delightful! It was a joyful experience stepping back into a genuine 1950s soda shop atmosphere. We all agreed that it would be a wonderful place to take our grandkids. I’m planning to bring my ladies' lunch group up from Fort Mill to enjoy the experience and do some shopping downtown as well.

A charming little soda shop that feels like a step back in time. The prices were quite reasonable, and the food offered classic American dishes that met expectations. My only letdown was when I ordered an old-fashioned phosphate—it was served in a foam cup rather than a glass. Nevertheless, it still tasted fantastic.

Had an excellent egg cream, which tasted exactly how I remember them from my childhood. Enjoyed our first time trying the funnel cake fries. Definitely want to return.

First time coming here and the food was great. We were served pretty quickly up at the counter. The only downside is it's small so it'd be a little difficult to bring a bigger family here to sit together. They only had one English muffin left and she said they wanted to save it in case someone orders an eggs Benedict so I had a breakfast sandwich on regular toast which was pretty good. I also had the French toast which came with bacon that was almost perfectly cooked. My husband had French toast, corned beef hash, eggs, and home fries. His was pretty good too. Overall a good experience, just can get a tiny bit tight when there are a lot of people.
