Hong Kong Cafe - Dauphin

The food here is fantastic. This restaurant is a staple in Dauphin. It appears to be more popular for takeout, as there are usually more people waiting for takeaway orders than dining in on non-buffet nights. The interior is typical of most Chinese takeout places. However, I always come back for the delicious Cantonese Chow Mein.

I would rate this restaurant as 3.5 stars. The decor has remained unchanged for 50 years, but it is a beloved local spot just the way it is. The cuisine is definitely American Chinese and it was quite enjoyable. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the quality of the food is good, although the rice was slightly overcooked.

The restaurant's interior may be outdated, but the food is delicious and the portion sizes are generous, keeping the regulars coming back for more. Their Friday afternoon buffet is perfect for the lunch crowd. The service is very friendly, and we often have a laugh with the main server during our lunch visits. The menu leans towards American Chinese cuisine, but it's still tasty.

This excellent restaurant is in Dauphin but I live in Winnipeg and we have some of the best Chinese foods in the province here. The Hong Kong Café never disappoints. It can walk with the best Chinese restaurants we have here! They are friendly, fast and the food is always hot and very tasty.
