The ordering process was confusing, as I was asked multiple times what I was ordering and each time referred to someone else. the fries were heavily covered in rock salt, and I was surprised to find that a small sandwich was priced at $15 and fries were an extra $3. The seating arrangement was poorly configured, with benches under the window awkward for guests. On the positive side, the sandwich quality was pretty good and the wait staff were congenial.
Sunday morning indulgent breakfast bacon eggs etc. Great service, atmosphere, friendly staff, great coffee. Darwin needs more of this and less of the untrained inexperienced rude backpackers pretending to be hospitality workers
During our time in Darwin, we enjoyed a fantastic meal at this restaurant. The air conditioning provided a comfortable environment, allowing us to enjoy hot dishes even in the tropical weather. The pumpkin soup was delicious and the rolls were made with very fresh ingredients. The coffee was also very good.
I stayed in Darwin for two weeks for business a few years ago and had breakfast at this restaurant every morning. It never disappointed me and was also cheaper than the hotel breakfasts. Last week, I found myself staying close by again and couldn't resist the chance to go back for breakfast. The service was good and the food was faultless. I highly recommend this place to people staying in nearby hotels looking for good food and service at a more affordable price.
If staying in the Mantra, the Gourmet Deli is a great spot for breakfast. Great selection (the eggs are good) and the coffee is very nice.
