Jamy's Burger Darmstadt

I came to this place with high expectations, since some friends had highly recommend it, sadly I left feeling disappointed. I had the Jamy's classic, since I wanted to try out just how good their regular cheeseburger was, and I have to say it's nothing special. The beef patty was undersalted. A crime that is inexcusable when cooking Angus beef which already has a very weak flavor. The only redeeming factor was the delicious mint lemonade

At last I had the chance to try Jamy's. The interior was very industrial. You had to order at the counter and were given a buzzer to know when your order was ready to collect. I had ordered Jamy's Double pack with bacon and sweet potato fries. I was pleasantly surprised that you could order your burger medium etc. Next time I will try for medium rare. The burger was huge and my eyes were obviously bigger than my stomach. But I pressed on and finished it, plus most of the fries which were excellent. I will definitely visit again. The star, of course, was the actual burger patty which was Angus beef and really tasted of beef !

The idea is indeed fantastic - fresh hamburgers for every taste, from meat lovers to vegans, with all possible combinations (sweet fried onions, Champignons, avocado...you name it). And indeed, that is what you get served...if you are lucky. Ordered 2 identical cheeseburgers, without pickles but with onions and one came with pickles and onions and the other without anything. The special Jamy burger with avocado, champignons and sweet onions came with everything ordered, but the temperature of the ingredients differed a lot (meat: very hot, just right, rest: between warm and just cold). The fries were an exception, as they were hot as they are supposed to be, and the sauces served (incl. the "homemade" sauce) just great. Overall the taste was really good compared to other non-McDonald-hamburgers served in Darmstadt really good...but the others manage to serve the food at the right temperature...Some people complain about the price - I don't: 30 Euros for 3 people would be ok IF you would get what you order at the correct temperature...Service: non existent as you order at the cashier and pick up your stuff at the counter. A really bad thing: they only accept cash - no credit, debit or any other cards...really?!?!

The service was relatively fast and friendly and everything was fresh produced and the burger tasted great,but for a burger fries and coke € 17 was too much as the portion was not that big even though I had an extra patti added.I would eat here again only if friends wanted to as I know I would leave hungry and poor.

Just go for the Portobello Burguer. Really, trust me. One of the best burguers I had, vegetarian or not, it is worth having a try! For less than 10 euros, is one of my favorite options in Darmstadt!
