The Mustard Tree is a community cafe situated in the Methodist church on the main road in the village centre. We actually almost drove past as, because of the lighting, it looked shut. This must be a recognised problem because they have a sign outside asking you to come in because “we are open!” Fortunately, eagle-eyed Mrs H spotted the sign. The village of Hurworth is utterly charming and the cafe has a lovely atmosphere with a mix of clientele, some people coming for lunch while others meet for a chat or to catch up with some stuff on their laptops. We just had tea, coffee and scones, all of which were top notch, as was the service. This is a lovely place and, having marked it on the car map (I’m old fashioned sometimes! we will certainly return whenever we are in the area.
Very nice ,friendly staff .lovely food and really hot cappuccino rarely happens anywhere) ,really well priced as well.look forward to visiting again
Lovely good quality justifies slightly high prices you get plenty of food. Couldn't recommend more.
A lovely little cafe. Adhering to all social distancing guidelines. Table service, tables spread apart. Food for all, homemade, lovely fresh bread for sandwiches and soup straight from the local bakery each day. A great find for no nonsense hearty sandwiches, jacket potatos, soups and cakes. Only one person serving when we went but he ran around and looked after everyone nicely. It isn't 5 star cuisine, it was better, just nice homemade food, made with local produce.
