Sushi Yachiyo - Darlinghurst

Du-te la est în japoneză. Alimente delicioase, atmosferă bună și în apropierea transporturilor. Karage-ul este deosebit de bun și Agadashi tofu. Ar recomanda prietenilor, primii date etc. Ideea bună de a rezerva ca este ocupată.

If it's not broken - don't fix it..... I (used to) eat at Yachiyo regularly. It was a local favourite. Food excellent, staff knowledgeable and engaging. So it was somewhat surprise when we went there last Friday (31/3/17) to see  each table featuring one or two ipads - scrolling images of food and drink. From these - customers now get to choose food and place orders directly to the kitchen. When our wait person came - we ordered sake (manually). We tried to engage about the menu - to be told to look at the ipad. Having made choices, she then leaned over us to place them via ipad (it was not intuitive) for four items. Two of these four items arrived almost immediately. I asked that they slow down the other two. Unfortunately - it seems that "computer says NO...". Our third dish arrived straight after. When I asked if they could hold it back, the waitress - in no uncertain terms - said NO. Meanwhile - our sake didn't arrive (I assume manual orders are now overlooked). We had to request it again...). I need not continue - you can guess how the rest of the meal went. Management - you may think the new computerised system is an enhancement. A new and exciting way to engage with customers. An improvement. It is not... I urge (if you are reading this) - please go back to your old ways. What made Yachiyo so good, was the combination of food and service. The food was still great - however - the ipads and computerised supply chain are terrible. Your DNA has been destroyed. Your personality and charm - all but gone. Moving images on the table and all around in your peripheral vision is unrestful and incongruous. Overall - it does nothing to enhance the experience. It's like being in a fast food restaurant. Please get rid of them.... I will not dine at Yachiyo again if the ipads persist. Sorry....

M-am dus la Sushi Yachiyo în seara asta după ce am văzut un nivel ridicat în Zomato. Jale Am comandat Chicken Katsu Sushi, Gyoza și Sushi de creveți. Pentru sushi sunt dezamăgit din nou pentru că este evident că mulți, dacă nu majoritatea bucătarilor de sushi din Sydney nu au putut finaliza cele mai mici și cele mai de bază sarcini de tăiere, comprimare și pregătire a sushiului. Uită-te la fotografii, nu am înțeles de ce sushi au fost inegal în dimensiuni și cad ingredientele. Jale Gyoza nu era mai bună. Fără gust și uscat. Ar fi mai bine dacă bucătăria verifică prazul, morcovul, castanele de apă sau alte ingrediente adăugate la Gyoza. Jale Jale Jale Jale Jale Nu aș fi surprins dacă Zomato are o cotă de mâncare despre un anumit ace sau restaurante pe care Zomato le plătește pentru comentarii mai mari.

Overall very pleasant casual dining experience. Run by Japanese there is a mix of traditional Japanese cuisine dishes like sushi, sashimi, tempura plus some fusion like scallop & mushroom risotto. They have the usual menu plus changing blackboard specials. Very wide variety of dishes! Their sushi & sashimi was very fresh and the sushi rice was perfect. Also had the yuzu marinated tuna which was a nice subtle and distinct flavour. Their miso & wasabi salmon popcorn was also fried perfectly with a great balance of seasoning. Their home made sushi soy sauce was nice and thick although a bit too sweet for my liking. Liked how the place was busy but not too packed and didn't make us have a fixed slot to dine (unlike a lot of other popular places), so it's perfect for a group of friends or a romantic date where you can slowly order and eat over wine, beer or sake. It's an authentic, cute little jap eatery. Highly recommend!
