Dined at Claire's Kitchen last night and overall, was underwhelmed. The restaurant itself is beautifully appointed, warm and inviting. The wine selection is very reasonable and we really enjoyed the Cote de Rhone GSM. I had the Rillette (smoked eel pate) for entree. It was dry, presented in a compact cylinder shape and served without crispbread. I thought Rillette was a loose form, chunky style of pate served with crispbread. The souffle and scallops ordered by my friends looked much better. I definitely had food envy. For main, four of us ordered the Lamb Shank Tagine. It tasted nice, though the lamb meat was dry. The dish needed more sauce and was barely warm which detracted from the dish. My partner ordered the flank steak. He said it was tough and also warm at best. He didn't enjoy it. For dessert, three of us had the Flan Patissier. This was the most disappointing part of our meal. It lacked sweetness, was dense dry and served with an apricot miso sauce that was overly tart and unpleasant. Perhaps it was my meal choices but overall, I didn't enjoy the experience. We loved our dining experience at the Claire’s kitchen. Food was delicious and the service was excellent. Restaurant has nice ambience and perfect for a date night. Will definitely return and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience.
