Contribuiți la feedbackI waited at the counter for 5 minutes before being greeted. I ordered fish and chips with juice and sat down. After 15 minutes, I saw two ladies who arrived after me get their spicy food before mine. I asked about my order, but decided to take it to go as I was in a rush. I waited an additional 10 minutes for my food. When I got back to my office, just a 7-minute walk away, I found that the chips were overcooked and oily, and the fish was greasy and poorly cooked. Overall, I was very disappointed with the meal. However, the staff did apologize for the wait by offering me a free cake, and the juice was good. It's a shame that they couldn't get such a classic dish right.
I absolutely adore this restaurant. I have introduced all my friends to it over the years. I have been coming here for 40 years and even when I am not in Sydney, I always make sure to enjoy a meal here. This place has a nostalgic charm that has remained unchanged over the years, which I love. It's one of those hidden gems that only locals know about, and every small change is noticed. I fondly remember when they replaced the chairs, and I couldn't decide if I missed the old ones or not. The waiters used to clean the tables with tea towels, a practice that isn't seen much anymore. For a decade, the sign reading 'watch your step' had missing letters, humorously spelling out 'wath ur ep', which became an inside joke with my friends. I always order the same thing, the Schnitzel and Cheese Combo, and the osso buco is also fantastic. The consistent taste and hospitality here brings comfort in a world that is constantly changing. I wouldn't change a thing about this place. If you're looking for delicious food, genuine people, a taste of old Sydney, and great company, this is the place to be. If you come alone, sit on the balcony and watch the world go by.
It took us at least 15 minutes to be asked for our order at the restaurant. After placing our order, we waited for almost an hour before most of our party received their meals. One person was forgotten and had to wait even longer. The food was just okay, nothing special. Despite acknowledging that they were busy, it was frustrating to see other customers who arrived after us being served and leaving before us. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.
Eating is fine. Unbelievable. Not like the old days. It won't be back. Service personnel seem confused. Easy to serve.
Amazing Italian food and very affordable. We got garlic bread, seafood linguine, a penne dish and a bottle of red for $75. We arrived without a reservation but it wasn’t a problem they found us a table. So if you are visiting I would recommend...booking a table it was super busy the whole time we were there. Highly recommend.
