Bon Vin Darlinghurst

I am somewhat hesitant to share this review, as this hidden gem truly deserves to retain its hidden charm. Located in a small basement accessed through a secluded back alley, Bon Vin offers delicious French inspired dishes at surprisingly affordable prices. We began with the Baked Camembert, followed by the excellent Duck Ravioli and Scallop starters. Our main courses and desserts were equally impressive: the pork loin, the beef fillet, and the ocean trout were all exceptional. A big thank you to the welcoming staff for a memorable evening - we will definitely be back!

Sometimes you bump into a hidden treasure! And it amazes you why it has taken so long! We had the pleasure of dining in Bon Vin last night and were delighted to discover two gems Bon Vin and their Executive Chef Lisa Nicholson! Ambience we might have been in Paris for that matter! Even Stephanie who served us was from Dijon the culinary capital of France. Food Scrumptious! French Modern Australian! We loved everything we ate and drank but my favourite was the Duck Ravioli! Well balanced flavours and textures, well presented dish a feast not only for your taste buds but also for your eyes and nose! They have several neighbourhood specials for mid week. Hidden gem alert! I stumbled upon this lovely restaurant by chance on a Saturday night. Walking down the stairs, I entered a cozy, inviting, and laid-back bar and dining room that made me feel like I was in a wine cellar restaurant in McLaren Vale. The service, food, drinks, and ambiance were all top-notch. It's a delight to discover a place like this in my neighborhood. The owner and chef even took the time to come and chat with us.

We had a wonderful experience at this hidden gem of a wine bar/restaurant. Located down a flight of stairs, the intimate atmosphere added to the charm. Chef Lisa prepared a delicious three-course meal that exceeded our expectations. The wine list was outstanding, offering a mix of unique, quirky, surprising, and traditional classic options. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience.
