We chose to sit at the bar, and I asked the bartender about the strange odor. She responded somewhat defensively, insisting she didn't smell anything and suggesting it might be the candles burning around the bar. However, I noticed there were five large candles lit, which seemed unlikely to be the source of the problem. The bartender wasn't friendly at all; in fact, she was quite rude. Despite seeing that I was on oxygen, she didn't acknowledge my situation. I had already stopped going to bars due to the smell of cigarettes, and I really shouldn't have to endure the potential stench of those awful candles. We decided to stay for the fish fry but made sure to sit as far away from the bar as possible, though the odor still lingered. Unfortunately, the fish fry was disappointing as well. Both of our potato pancakes were burned, the cod was mediocre at best, and the cornbread tasted like vanilla cake instead of the traditional flavor we expected. On a positive note, the waitstaff were nice, but the bartender really needs to work on her attitude and reconsider those candles. Honestly, we're not sure if we'll return, but we might come back just to see if they've removed those candles.
