The Basil Leaf Cafe - Danville

The restaurant is closed and didn't inform anyone. We had a brunch reservation scheduled for two weeks later, but when we arrived, the doors were locked and there was a sign indicating a change of ownership. It would have been courteous to notify customers so they could adjust their plans accordingly.

The Basil Leaf Cafe closed for the weekend after we dined there. Most of the staff had resigned, resulting in slower service. However, the few remaining employees worked very hard, and the food was quite good. I'm disappointed to hear that it will be replaced by a Mexican restaurant set to open in October.

There were only 3 tables in the whole restaurant that had customers and it was Saturday night in Danville. My husband and I split a salad. It didn’t look like it had any dressing on it at all. It was the house salad with balsamic dressing, or supposed to be. My Saltimbocca was okay and my husband like the Pomodoro with chicken. Our friends had the Rigatoni which she liked but her husband ordered salmon that was over cooked. He was not happy and hardly ate it. Portions are really big too i would prefer less and be happy with my dinner. I have had lunch there and liked it but I don’t think we will be having dinner there again.

We always have a great time here. The food is consistently good. Danville is a great place to people watch.

Birthday. I am just appointed to hear that they will be closing soon. I have gone there for many years and have always enjoyed their brunch and their staff. I will miss them
