Very please there is FINALLY a full service restaurant open in the city. When I am visiting there are no other options beyond fast food. Refreshing to have options that aren 't fried. In fact, the menu here has a sizable vegetarian selection. My favorite part of the menu however are the more unique dishes you don 't see on EVERY Mexican restaurant. Sure, you will find some of your "regular favorites but there are many other things to try. Definitely with the try ! Food presentation 5 Food temperature 5 Service 5 Cleanliness 5 Menu selection 5 Atmosphere 3 (add live or silk plants to warm the space up) Food quality 3 would be a strong 4, but I 'm a food snob. I would have hoped for fresh tortillas. They were not bad but a real opportunity to use homemade fresh tortillas that can be purchased readily from La Fama, locally down the highway. Also instead of Cotija cheese they used Parmesan as a substitute Often used as a substitute it 's not the same and it definitely impacted the flavor of one of our dishes which would have been leagues better without it. Definitely will be back. So many different dishes to try.
Was passing through so me and a friend thought we'd stop here and eat today. Extremely friendly staff. Everything on the menu looks and sounds delicious. I had a chicken fajitas my favorite anywhere and he had the steak fajitas. Also got queso dip with the tortilla chips. The dip sort of tasted like a Velveeta type dip you could make it home so that was a little disappointing. However everything else was absolutely delicious. Also the tortillas are not homemade but delicious as well. We didn't get dessert but it's definitely worth a stop. The wait staff are wonderful.
I've lived in areas that are very heavily Mexican-oriented much of my life. I love good real Mexican food, and their's is. It's not typical Tex-Mex. They went up recently in price, but it's still good. 2 can eat there for about $25+tip with soft drinks or tea (no alcohol served). The people there are happy and really nice, and they know almost all their customers. I highly recommend this place if you live in the area or are passing through (on Hwy 259).
Four of us eat here tonight and I was very impressed. Very clean, waitress was totally awesome, food was fantastic. Not your normal TexMex, this seemed much more Larado than Dallas. I had a dish I had not heard of before, Polo de la creama or something close to that. It was awesome, highly recommend. They serve hot sauce and chips but also a Pico with shedded cabbage, spicy and good. The hot sauce was a bit hot and I liked it but everyone else thought it too hot. Will go back.
