Now Green Door on 8th. The food here is amazing! Great atmosphere and friendly staff. This is on our list of favorites!!
Yes, new name (Green Door on 8th) and new ownership. This place sets the bar for restaurants in the area. Staff supper friendly and food is top notch. I had a fillet (medium rare) which was cooked to perfection and my business partner had the shrimp and grits which she said was very good. The waiter said they were out of bread pudding but guess he worked some magic because he got us and table next to our a fresh batch right out of the oven. After the temperature was reduced down from nuclear...lol....that was some amazing stuff.
Just ate at Green Door on 8th (formerly Orleans). Best eating experience in a long time. New owner Greg went out of his way to accommodate us. They were already closed for the day but Greg offord to serve use a delicious bowl of Crawfish Etouffee and some of the best homemade Bread Pudding you'll ever eat. The decor is beautiful and everything is very clean. Definitely a five star or higher rating! Will be back soon. BTW my husband was born and raised in southern La. Also the house hotsauce is off the charts.
This restaurant has been bought out by previous employees and is now known as the green door ...hubby and I sat at an outdoor table to peruse the menu while I finished my cigarette..someone inside commented something about what if the smoke comes in the door (we were in the corner downwind of the door) the waiter came out claiming that the city has an ordinance requiring that smoking mist be 1500 ft from door .I do not know if this is true or not ..I DO know of 2 other restaurants with patio seating close to an entrance that allow smoking ...so seemed shady to me ..we chose to simply leave as the price hikes on the menu were not worth it ...I mean really 12$ for a burger and a beer is an advertised special? That burger better be the biggest best burger ever ....
