Taqueria Casa Frida - Culpeper

I felt like I was back home in Tucson! The food was excellent—clean, bright, and truly authentic Mexican cuisine. I enjoyed the Chili Relleno plate and took some Taquitos Dorados to go. The salsa was fantastic!

The meat in the tacos was tasty, but it was cut into pieces that were a bit too small for my liking. On the other hand, the tortillas were excellent, boasting great flavor and texture. I had requested to have the tacos prepared differently, but sadly that meant the original pairing of onions and cilantro was replaced with salad, tomatoes, and sour cream. Once I added the cilantro and onion back to the tacos, they were much more flavorful. As for the chicken taco salad, it came in a crispy, deep-fried tortilla bowl that was quite enjoyable. While the meat was also delicious, it got somewhat overshadowed by the large amount of salad and seasoned beans that accompanied it. The service was a little slow. The server mentioned that it was a busy night, but I noticed there were only about five tables with two or three people each. I would hope for improved service, especially when all the tables are filled. For drinks, we shared a strawberry margarita, which was on the sweeter side for my taste, but I still finished it. Overall, I would definitely return to this restaurant.

Great Mexican food! The fajitas were delicious, and the tamales are homemade. It was a quiet evening on a Tuesday. We'll definitely be back!

Excellent food. The owners are friendly. The food is authentic Mexican. A must!

This replaced a local favorite when the previous owners retired. The new owners are very friendly and you can tell they care about the quality of their food. This is real authentic Mexican food. The Tacos (a personal favorite) are very good. This is still a very new restaurant that will only get better over time. We will return for another visit soon.
