Old House Winery - Culpeper

If you’re reading this stop! Your need to just come visit because this is one of the best places around. Good food, nice wine, wonderful spirits, a beautiful property and excellent staff.Seriously, this place should have six stars! If they started rolling cigars too it’d be seven (just sayin guys ?

A huge crowd provided a lively atmosphere on a perfect Mothers Day. Great entertainment, a wide selection of food both in-house and guest food trucks, and of course all the wines, spirits and beer at several locations throughout the facility really can’t be beat. Found the posted sign ‘If you’re in line waiting for food at this point there will probably be quite a wait’ humorous. Ended up making friends and enjoying a beer while in said line, so it wasn’t bad at all.

The venue was pretty but you couldn’t access the wine room or walk around near the water area due to wedding events, only the tap room where you could taste wines and beer was open and the distillery. The distillery tasting was really good, but if you go for just wine tasting be ware they are not very good, mediocre at best, especially if you like dry wines, you will be disappointed.

We came here midweek not really knowing what to expect. We were thankful to have had this gem almost to ourselves. There were about 15 to 20 locals here. A great sign. The wine selection is very nice and the wines are top notch. The wife got a flight. I went the beer route. Had a cranberry orange sour and a mango IPA style. Both were excellent. We threw in a brick oven pizza that was also superbly tasty with a fine charred crust. I should know because I managed an Italian restaurant with a brick oven. Word of advice. If your hungry get two. They are priced well and as I said, they're super tasty. More of a single size though. Overall I would give Old House 10 stars of I could. Make the trip. Enjoy the lovely outdoor setting. It's peaceful and well worth it.

We came to Old House Vineyards as a last minute decision and it was definitely worth it! It is an understatement to say the property is beautiful. There is plenty of seating all around the lake that gives you a perfect view to sit down and eat/drink/chat with friends family. The drinks here are great! They have a brewery, winery, AND a distillery which means there are plenty of options for everyone. My personal favorite was the frozen rosé the perfect treat on a hot summer day. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos of the food but it was all only OK, all on the salty side but not terrible. The staff here are all super friendly and willing to answer any questions! It all felt very welcoming. I will definitely be coming back to try more!
