Tomates Verdes Fritos - Cuenca

I had been wanting to try this restaurant for over a year now. People always tell me how good it is whether you’re vegetarian or not. My boyfriend made reservations to celebrate him passing his C1 English exam, so we decided to have a nice, romantic dinner. We heard it was best to make reservations if you’re going on the weekend. It was fairly busy around 10, so I’d suggest the reservation too... just to be on the same side. We were seated quickly and the service was good. During the weekend, they offer a Mexican menu with both vegetarian and non vegetarian options. The waiter suggested we share the vegetarian tacos and burritos. The tacos were good but not nearly as good as the burritos. I really enjoyed the food. Each plate was around €10. Drinks were €2.5 €6 (6 being the margarita which wasn’t as sweet as I normally like but still yummy) The only problem was the portions were a bit small. It was enough food for me but my bf would at least need two plates to himself. Overall, solid date night and I know I’m going to be craving these burritos all the time now.

Food was quite ok but not outstanding. Actually its tarted very promising but after a very nive starter the main dish was not as good as the beginners and way to heavy. It took us 3 hours from entering untill we got the bill..

A real find in Cuenca- fabulous food, wonderful wine and excellent service from the ever energetic lady owner. A must for anyone who visits . new address calle Sánchez Vera 13
