Café Cidap - Cuenca El Arenal

REAL. BELGIAN. WAFFLES. There is nowhere in Ecuador I have had a better waffle than than Cafe Cidap! If you like your waffles light and crispy, and if you like to add REAL ice cream or fruit and perhaps choose one of 5 syrups (price is 1.50 to $2.50 depending on add-ons), and chase it with a $1 espresso, then this is your place! It's location is tricky, so I call it the best kept snack secret in Cuenca, but they also make fresh Panini sandwiches, and they serve Belgian beer! You can find it by going down the stairs from Calle Larga near Goza at Hermano Miguel, then make a button-hook right immediately off the walking path, and you will find it tucked back to the left of the Museum.
