Contribuiți la feedbackFantastic eating and friendly and attentive service. beautiful margaritas, and tasty eating we shared the sweet bread appetizer, then ordered the roasted otopus and the beginning of the day that I missed the names of the fish, but it was perfectly boiled with crispy skin. no place to dessert, but next time.
Negative assessments come from people who, besides knowing nothing about good food. they are inspired by the best local taco spots like los cocuyos,) but are wild obsessed as they make their taco courses on the tasting menu, which means that this is the place in cdmx that makes the best tacos at all; in the did the pehua has the discretion to make the greatest tacco of my life. the rest of the menu is however still more ambitious and ozing with passion, which are incredibly close to the number of hommage to any street of Mexican cuisine.
Stephanie, Miguel, and David were allstars with the service at PEHÜA this evening, worrying over every fine detail and explaining every course. What a treat it is to be at a restaurant that really cares about the food, and shoots for greatness in every course!...They reached it in half of the dishes we ordered — particularly outstanding was the shrimp gordita and the corn esquitas. The other dishes were good but not amazing or outstanding. The red wine, called Forza, from Mexico, was delicious, as good as most Chilean or California reds. $120 for two and worth it. We’d return.
I have a particular interest in eating in restaurants where the chef incorporates the regional ingredients into their dishes as well as riffs on traditional recipes. I had heard about Pehua and decided to take myself on a date there for my birthday. I don 't...love dining at better restaurants on my own (because without a companion, i can try fewer dishes), but the way the menu is designed at Pehua, I was able to experience a variety of beautiful dishes without filling myself to exploding, nor breaking the bank. What helped were the delicious house made breads one with cacao and one a pan de pulque that were brought to start along with a salsa, and the palate cleanser that I was brought between dishes. The chef elevates those flavors of the street and fondas, with a great sensitivity toward the regional herbs and ingredients. I heartily recommend Pehua to those who want to try unusual flavors. There is a 10 or 11 course tasting menu that is excellent value as well.
We dined here this week and the meal was exceptional! We arrived early for our resevation but were accomodated and the service was flawless. They adapated to our requests and were very gracious. I travel frequently and love eating around the world and felt this...was an incredible experience.
