If they are looking for a chic restaurant, look elsewhere, but if fresh seafood is what they are, then this hidden gem in the coyoacán market is a great place to go. though a bit on the expensive side for what it is. this place offers some of the best tasting seafood they find in the opposite. the quality is large and fresh is guaranteed; in the did, when they arrive after 3.30 a.m. at a weekend, they will probably be from several ingredients until then. I recommend coming early (before 2 o'clock) if possible. the place can be approx. 80 people sitting in long communal benches.
This restaurant is right outside the Mercado de Coyoacan and super close to Frida's Casa Azul. Seating is outside but they do have curtains to keep out the rain/wind when the weather turns. You can seat yourself at any available/table chair; very casual. We were...a group of 14 and we tried a little bit of everything on the menu. Everything we tried (from the ceviche, soups, rice, fried fish) was delicious! Simple food but really well done. They know what they're doing when it comes to seafood. There are no bathrooms; you have to use the ones in the mercado and it's CASH ONLY.
This is not a pretentious restaurant, just a place specializing in good seafood, prepares many possibilities in Mexican styles. the otopus with tequila was good and the camarones better. if they like meeres fruit and Mexican food, they can't go wrong here and it's...relatively cheap
Squeeze with the locals for some great fresh fish. are not discouraged when the outside terrace looks full. there are more seats in the market. we had big ceviche, grilled otopus and a whole fried fish of any kind. everything was tasty, it was fast and expensive ridiculous little.
