This very clean, well established shop for pastries (pasteles) was just 3 doors down from the Hampton inn in the historic district. Irresistible! For fun, walk through the giant Pasteleria Madrid on the other side of the street first.
It's nice to get Mexican candy at the airport. They open 24 hours. Some kind of small place to sit and eat, but they offer good sweets. Cake, pans, jellos, pound cakes, biscuits, marshumellow decoration stick candles, chicken mol sandwich and coffee. You have...more.
El Globo is certainly worth a visit if you are looking for high quality cakes, pastries etc. It can change cheaper bakeries, but the selection of El Globo is probably better and many outlets also include a cafe and bakery... section that makes the visit even better. My restaurant in Ave Montivideo has indoor and outdoor tables where you can sit and have a coffee and cake and watch the world go in the meantime. Very recommended.
If I was in the death cell, I want this place to be my last meal!! LOL, but true. The best bakery I ever had. Now they have a small restaurant so stay for lunch and coffee! The best!!!... My Fav are the croissants, hand-dipped donuts with wrinkles and bigotes! How do they make it!!!?? HEAVENNNNNN!!! VIVA MEXICO!!!
