Carlos Pancake House - Crystal Lake

Ordered the huevos con chorizo, refried beans, hash browns and white toast. I would have to say one of the best meals of had here at Carlos. I’ve had huevos con chorizo in other places in the area and they don’t even come close to Carlos did todays. 10/10 would

This is not a pancake house. It is a mexican dinner restaurant with a breakfast menu.Pancakes are tiny and flat, served with syrup in 2 ounce plastic containers that have a film on the top just like old tomato soup that was left out. All food is served on plastic taco dishes, which means your pancakes are glued to the plate.Carlos is NOT a pancake house, if you want a mexican style breakfast with tortillas and spicy meat you're at the right restaurant, if you want a traditional American breakfast with eggs, hash browns, pancakes, waffles, eggs benedicts, etc, you're at the wrong restaurant.

Our first time here the best breakfast we’ve had in a long time. Everything we ordered tasted so good we’re picky about pancakes! Great menu choices. Service was excellent prices were very fair. We will definitely be coming back!!

The employee was very nice and service was quick but we were the only customers in there on a Thursday Morning at 8am. We got french toast pancake eggs and sausage. It was okay. Sausage was undercooked for my sister I encouraged her to say something but she didn't. I had french toast but idk if my taste buds were off or what but didn't have much flavor needs some vanilla and cinnamon in it. The atmosphere was a little confusing the chairs that say Carlos on them were cute but not for that breakfast place they all said seafood on them threw me off and the mix of decor isnt very pleasing. Also the music that was playing was not something you want to listen to in the morning eating breakfast. But overall it was ok.
