Lolita Back Bay - Crossing

Our group booked a reservation a week in advance. With high expectations for lolita's, I have to say the decore the atmosphere was amazing walking in there was like walking into a fancy castle dungeon the skulls on the table have real roses real candles the whole aesthetic was different and refreshing. the food was ok the mushroom quesadilla and and the habanero chicken rancho was delicious. The carne asada was underwhelming. We also got nachos, tacos, churros, and cotton candy. All were satisfying. Like I said, the food was not bad. What was disappointing was the service when ordering our first round of drinks waitstaff seemed a bit condescending and seemed like he couldn't hear us or answer our questions. It really put off the mood of the table by the third round he all of a sudden knew the menu and became attentive. Personally, out of all the nice places we go, this was the first time that as a group felt like the staff only showed interest when he realized we were there to spend money it was a weird and off putting vibe for the night.

Marcio and Thomas provided excellent service. Great food, great cocktails. Definitely a nice place to spent the night.

The ambiance and decor were top notch. We went on a Saturday night so it was very loud. Not sure if it’s always loud but it felt like they had a club-like thing going on by the bars. The food was very good except for the fact that it was over-salted; I couldn’t finish the last few bites even though I was still hungry. They bring you a complimentary palate cleanser and cotton candy with your bill which was a nice touch! The service was good. Overall, I would come here again but will grow the balls to send back the food if it’s over-salted again.

I love the dark gothic atmosphere at Lolita! Make sure you splurge and try the queso- it is worth talking about! Great selection of specialty cocktails and delicious Mexican food! If you're in the Back Bay area, I highly recommend Lolita's!

I made a reservation for my birthday and due to miscommunication I arrived 2 hours before my reservation, they accepted my change and sat us right away! Great customer service, food, and the complimentary cotton candy was such a nice touch. Great place.
