La Volpe E L'uva - CRISPIANO

We got the family together to visit this small but quaint Italian Panzerotti specialist as we had been told it's very good. A normal panzerotto costs about €1.50 at a take-away, here we are talking from €2 to €5,00. However we are talking about quality Panzerotti made with top quality ingredients and a variety of flavours unheard of in my time in Italy, I counted over 10 types and I think we tried them all, all delicious!! Staff very friendly, simple menu, clear descriptions, very helpful advice, great choice of fillings, reasonable wine and beer selection, overall a very pleasant evening on the terrace overlooking part of the old town of Massafra. I will 100 percent go back here and I'll take some other friends to see how good it is. Nice family atmosphere, very enjoyable for all the family!

Our third visit to La volpe e l'uva was just as remarkable as our first (and second! .... Beautiful setting. Beautiful food. Beautiful people. A truly wonderful experience!

Came upon this restaurant in upper Massafra. It's a gem and worth finding. I had the Pizza Ortolana ? which has a black coloured flour base. On top were grilled vegetables and melted cheese. It was simply delicious. The black pastry has carbon powder which really gives it the edge. A couple of chilled beers and good company....what more could you ask for? The female waitress was great and the location is in an excavated rock wall. Would go again when I'm in the area.

I was alone and came upon this very friendly restaurant by chance and what a lucky chance. I had the clam linguine which was gorgeous, some good local red wine and good strong coffee. Would definitely return and I do recommend.

Went to this interesting venue in a cave dwelling which was quite difficult to find lots of steps only to find on arrival that they only serve pizza now even though several other dishes were still featured on the menu which was disappointing having read previous reviews on Tripadvisor. I wonder if they have lost their chef? Service was not great and surprisingly they do not accept credit cards. Pizzas were ok but not really worth the effort of specially finding the restaurant.
