Unfortunately, this was our first last visit. The waiter has ruined us the evening with his mood unfriendly. Patzig replied, after dessert immediately brought the bill, although we waited to drink something and not ask for the bill. At the other tables, as usual in Greece, we could get an ouzo bill for us, but not apparently our waiter had no more on it. After we had paid cash and the bill did not come back with our return after 10 minutes, he no longer had to be careful, we left the restaurant unhappy. There are 2 stars for wine eating our friends (Thunfisch Steak). The vegan risotto came uncooked that we sent back to the kitchen, there was also no excuse. The noodles with pesto were salted and too oily. The chocolate mousse as a dessert was very delicious.
The food was good, but not outstanding. The restaurant itself was charming and lovely. I would suggest coming here for a glass of wine and dessert with your significant other if you're in the mood for romance.
We accidentally stumbled upon Mones and are delighted that we did! They offer a separate vegan menu with delicious options. While they may not have a wide variety of entrees, the chocolate mousse was fantastic. The location is also lovely, perfect for lunch or dinner.
Really nice place, nice people and good wine, but the food is not really delicious, a little easy I think... Exept the chocolate mousse that is really good. A little expensive.
Mones is situated on a charming narrow street made of cobblestones in Chania. It is tucked away from the main tourist areas and is connected to a beautifully renovated monastery that now serves as a hotel. The interior of the restaurant is absolutely stunning. I was delighted to discover that they offer a vegan menu. When inquiring about the pesto, the server went to check with the kitchen and returned to inform me that it contained cheese. However, they kindly prepared a pasta dish for me with a vegan marinara sauce. Despite the initial error on the vegan menu, I commend them for their effort in catering to vegan diners. I am happy to assist in their learning process. In places where vegan options are not yet common, I take it upon myself to inquire about ingredients such as cheese in the pesto, eggs in the pasta, yogurt in the sauce, mayonnaise in the dressing, and so on.
