Very friendly reception, large triple room, clean, bed linen, small treatments, coffee towels, super ratio price. We will certainly come back with our ally who loved him too.
This was an excellent stopover on our way back home, the rooms were very clean and the lovely owners very friendly and helpful, speaking English when we ran out of French! The evening meal was delicious, prepared by Madame who was also waiting on the tables, very impressive. Breakfast was also very good.
La Tour de Crecy is still our hotel of choice when we arrive in France, and the welcome was as warm and friendly as ever. Again, we had dinner here but as we had eaten earlier we decided to forego our usual three course meal and go for something lighter. We chose a main course salad and one of their home-made pizzas and both hit the spot perfectly. I'm a bit of a snob, and hard to please when it comes to pizza, but I have to say that this one was perfectly made and very tasty. For the salad we chose Salade de Gesiers, which is a dish we first discovered in Carcassonne last year, and was our first taste of gizzards. And for those of you who don't fancy the thought of eating gizzards, let me assure you that they are simply beautifully tender and tasty pieces of meat. Usually a Salade de Gesiers is prepared with chicken gizzards, but here they use duck gizzards which are even better. Served with bacon lardons, tomatoes, corn, mushrooms, croutons and just the right amount of vinaigrette, this was probably the best salad I've ever had. As ever, a lovely meal and a pleasant stay in one of our favourite hotels.
Stayed overnight on the way back to Calais from the Alps. A lovely hotel in the centre of a very pretty, small town. Clean, large room that slept all 4 of us comfortably. The highlight was dinner. The service wasn't fast but the food was definitely worth the wait. Leffe on draft also a bonus!
