Rockwood Cafe - CRAWFORD BAY

We've both dined in, and taken out from this consistently good Chinese Food restaurant. Always freshly made when ordered. Never disappointed.

We live about 45 minutes away.it takes 1.5 hours PLUS TO DRIVE HERE AND RETURN HOME.we had eaten here a couple times.things were slow.food was good.this is our last visit here.previous to this current bad experience,we had the EXACT one a few months ago.we arrived at about 1:00 PM FOR LUNCH.waitress took our order.then comes and tells us IThe cook has very important thing to do .we must wait 20 minutes before he can cook our meal..duh? At lunch hour.we endured the process..not happily as we could hear the cook on the floorPhone placing his food order with supplier.we were the only customers in the little place.so this last week we forgave them for the crappie service last time.we walk in sit down .pick our menu items.waitress returns to our table to tell us cook has very important things to do and can't make our meal for at least 20 minutes. She tells us we could have dim sun...no was our reply.she then tells us we order combo....blah.if you are going to serve only those 2 items at lunch say so on your website.anyways I spoke up and told her to tell her cook a very important person was leaving to go elsewhere .and perhaps he should think of his customers as Very important and not schedule his IMPORTANT BUSINESS AT LUNCH HOUR.WILL NEVER GO BACK.we carried to nelson ,Had a very nice late lunch at Amy's or Amanda's just at the big orange bridge.

Best Chinese I've probably ever had. We came to crawford bay for our honeymoon and were very pleasantly surprised with the incredible food here.

We spent a few days at the Kokanee Springs golf course and drove down the road to this little gem one evening for dinner. It is not fancy at all but a nice clean family run business. The food is cooked to order so don't be in a rush as it is a bit slower coming out of the kitchen than a fast food type restaurant. But it is definitely worth the wait. Everything we ordered was hot and really fresh. Probably the best Chinese food I have eaten. Enjoy!

After seeing the positive reviews on TA we decided to try this café. Each of us ordered their combination plate, consisting of sweet & sour chicken balls, sweet & sour pork and chop suey. The sweet & sour sauce was neither sweet nor sour; it had no flavor at all. Our food would have tasted the same if we had sprinkled water on it. As we are used to ordering our Chinese food with s&s sauce, the lack of s&s sauce completely ruined the meal for us. Also, we had ordered chop suey and instead we received mixed vegetables. We won’t be back.
