The Red Lion - Craven

I hadn't been to this restaurant since last year and had heard that it had declined in quality. However, I can honestly say that the food was delicious and served quickly. Sam, who was working at the bar, was fantastic and served our food with excellence. My friends and I had a lot to catch up on, but once the food arrived, we all stopped talking and enjoyed our meal. We had a great time during our visit and really enjoyed the experience.

I rarely post reviews, but I had a disappointing experience at lunch with a special offer for two meals for approximately £15.00. We sat at a table by the amazing fireplace, but sadly, the food did not meet expectations. I ordered the hunters chicken, but half of the chips were cold and the chicken had gone cold as well. When the chicken was replaced, it was dry and overcooked, with reused bacon that made the bbq sauce and bacon indistinguishable and dried up. I was so hungry that I just ate what I could. There was no checkback to see if everything was okay. As a Greeneking friends and family member, I am used to visiting many of their pubs and hotels, and this experience was disappointing. My friend enjoyed the mushroom chili, but the onion rings were also disappointing.

I went to this restaurant with my family on Wednesday and had the fish and chips, which were delicious. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the place was clean and organized.

Called in with my family after shopping for lunch. Ordered the kids the pasta sweetcorn and garlic bread. Unfortunately they had no sweetcorn. When food was recieved it was swimming in water where the pasta hadn't been drained. Food was cold. Gluten free options are minimal and half of the options not available. Drinks tried to order a cocktail and did not have a mixer for this.

After being turned away from ordering food at another Skipton pub (4 adults, 2 kids 6.30 thurs) the service couldn’t have been more different! The staff were great and the lovely chef even created a dish for my fussy 10 year old. Thank you for being so accommodating. You turned a bad situation round massively and we now know where to head first!!
