Me and my husband stayed here in the B&B part 4 years ago and loved the atmosphere of the pub. Today we decided to go back with family and our dog to have Sunday lunch. This place is a lovely village pub with fantastic meals which are big servings at a good price. The Sunday roast are amazing everything about it was delicious topped off with a massive fruit crumble and custard. This lovely little pub is dog friendly with a area where dogs are not allowed if you are allergic or not found of them. I would suggest however that you book a table in advance especially if you want to take your pooch with you as it becomes fully booked quickly. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Definitely highly recommend staying or visiting just for the food and atmosphere.
My family I have been going to this fantastic place for 10 yrs when we are in the area. We went today after a long spell of not going as we haven't been in the area for a while. I had actually forgotten how amazing the food is here. The Sunday Roast was the best I've eaten and the portion size was huge. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It's definitely a little gem of a find and once you have been here you will definitely make a number of return trips. One thing to definitely try is the cheesy chips, they are something else.
The Masons hosted by Amy Richard is a down to earth proper Yorkshire pub. Warm welcoming with superb ales food. As said before a hidden gem. We had a superb evening enjoying the food drinks ambience of a traditional pub. Dog friendly. Our food was served very efficiently the Steak Ale pie a real pie lashing of gravy.
Eight of us booked in to The Mason Arms for lunch on New Years Day. We were on holiday in the area and had been told that there were some nice pubs in Gargrave. The Mason Arms managed to accommodate us last minute. The pub is a traditional 'no airs and graces ' kind of pub, packed with friendly locals and lots of people eating. The food is hearty and home cooked. The pies (made on site) were particularly delicious and come with home made chips or mash and lashings of gravy on the side. The kids meals were great value too and the kids burger was also home made. Despite the pub being short staffed on the day, our drinks and food arrived promptly and the staff were all very warm and welcoming. The mason Arms was a great find and we will definitely return if visiting the area again.
