Broussard's Courtyard - Cozumel

Back room was terrible. Extremely loud. Wait staff rushed us and I had family in town visiting. We were dressed nice and others in room were in cut offs and tshirts. Poor experience for a local bringing family from out of town.

Wonderful dining experience! Two of us shared three amazing appetizers, had a few cocktails and ended with coffee and dessert. Everything thing was delicious and the service was outstanding!

Had been there before and had high expectations. Not met unfortunately. Wait staff was very apologetic. Had to apologize over 15 times for various failings. There was a big Party going on on the patio and that might have been the reason. Turtle soup roux was burnt) Duck and alligator sausage gumbo. Less than tasty. Oysters Broussard. Served cold. Camembert was good. Crab cake appetizer filled with crabmeat but scanty on hollandaise. I rarely post bad reviews here in New Orleans. But this was an exception.

Broussard's was noted to have a Jazz Brunch on Sundays, which is why we chose that day to go there. The music was barely noticeable. The musicians stood in a back corner of the main dining room for just a few minutes playing and that was it. Then they must have moved outdoors. The service was terrible. After being seated, we waited for 20 minutes and no one had even came to our table to offer us water (and it was 90 degrees out). Finally my husband got up, walked to the front and inquired about when our server would come to the table. After another 10-minutes someone came with water. Then we had to wait for our server to return to the table to take our order. Had to wait about 40 minutes for our meal to come, there were no condiments on the table and when we asked for some it took another 10 minutes to get them. The meal was not at all worth the wait. The staff was polite, but they should have offered to take something off the bill. Definitely never returning.

The food and atmosphere was absolutely amazing! My only complaint was my order wasn't made correctly- however the minute our server set it down, she confirmed if it was made correctly or not and when she saw it wasn't she took it away immediately and they promptly remade it for me, which I really appreciated! Beautiful restaurant, delicious food, and the live music was just absolutely wonderful!
