I had great expectations for Muellecito. I had lunch there a few years ago. This time the service was bad. Servers were slow, not much attention to our table. It took forever to get the bill. They claimed they didn't work the billing system, said they had to pay me by hand. We had to go to the cash counter and they couldn't or would not take my visa card. Instead, I had to use my Amex card. The servers did not seem to worry about my dissatisfaction on the length (at least 1/2 hours) of my waiting to get my check and pay it (10 more min, at least). Food was okay, but not spectacular. Cost-effective given the quality/taste of it. I really hope they improve. The owner should improve the monitoring of his servers, because I would like to go back to el Muellecito when in Cozumel on my next trip there. The views are spectacular, but during sunset it is advisable to sit in the A/C area, as the heat and light from the sun over the horizon, can become unbearable outside. Hopefully they improve! Thank you. Ricardo Zamora Mexico City
Recommended by a local diving shop. Staff and food were very good. The location overlooks the water from a second story. Directly from the passenger ferry. We showed up before the kitchen opened, but they let us in and we had great margaritas and food. Very friendly and we highly recommend it!
This place had reasonably priced drinks, more of a local vibe and a good atmosphere. We are Americans and enjoyed hearing the American hip hop music the DJ played.
... but the urge for some seafood and good travel advisor reviews can be challenged by the satisfaction of these reviews) let us try the obvious tourist trap anyway. Much overpriced, tiny portions and cocktails as they were mixed by a 7-year-old. Unless you are a tasteless cruise ship passenger avoid this and try another restaurant. Los Nopales was the hot one during our trip!
