Contribuiți la feedbackWe usually go here and like it when we come down to Cozumel a couple times a year... but the sign isn’t even there anymore.. Too bad, was a cool place
I went there because they were playing the Monday night NFL football and to eat. I was very impressed with the staff. They had all you can eat barbecue. The ribs were a bit tough but the sauce tasted good. The beans were a mixture of cooked and not cooked ones and also the potato salad, the potatoes were not fully cooked, so I was a little disappointed. The bathroom was male and female and not so clean at the time. The staff were really nice and helpful.
We saw the sign for Alma’s only bar on the way to our resort. Since we live in a town called Alma, we knew we had to come back and at least get a picture with the sign! What a surprising couple of hours we spent in this little hidden gem. Pablo makes a mean margarita, my conch ceviche was out of this world and we met ALMA! This is a feel-at-home, comfortable place where everyone acted like family. We had the best visit and will definitely come back on our next trip to the island!
On my last trip to Cozumel, we decided to stay away from all the typical tourist spots. We asked a couple locals where we should go and they told us about Alma's. What a great experience! We met Alma and Gene and ended up spending the entire day with them. After they closed down Alma's Only, we went to another local establishment where we met many of their friends and had an awesome day. The food, service and friendliness of Alma's can't be beat! Tell Alma and Gene we said hello!
We drove past this restaurant, which is small and quaint, and decided to stop in for a beer. We ended up grabbing a bite to eat, nachos and a chicken quesadilla. Both were awesome. The nachos were covered with nice helpings of chicken, cheese and beans while the quesadilla was loaded with good chicken and nicely spiced. The bar is small but the liquor selection and the bartenders make up for it. Alma is a delight while Maya and Luis were the very helpful bartenders by telling us about the areas of the island we hadn't been to yet and made our visit enjoyable. We went back again, but I can't remember what we ate. All I know is that it was delicious. They do have breakfast but, unfortunately, we never made it there for that meal. We will be back again.
