Contribuiți la feedbackWe followed this chef from the Kingfisher Spa to his new restaurant "Locals "in Courtenay, B.C. The concept of ‘locals’ is to use everything within 100 miles, so always fresh. Being by the ocean of course gives them many options! We started with mussels that had the most amazing cream sauce we have every experienced….(we’re sure there is anise in it). We had also ordered a lemon drop martini which was entirely handcrafted with fresh ingredients-absolutely sinful! For an entree we selected the pasta pescadore….loads of seafood, candied salmon, shrimp, mussels all very fresh cooked to perfection in another wonderful cream sauce. beautifully rich and amazing flavours! We split the layered chocolate cake and frozen lemon merangue pie/cake – not sure what it was except both were delicious! We go once a year and now that we’ve found “Locals” I’m afraid we will go nowhere else! Les (Dilts)
