Worse chinese food ever! Went for lunch buffet and wa by far the worstI am chinese and i knew this would be americanized chinese food.

Great Chinese food and kept hot and clean. Busy place so be prepared to wait or make a reservation.

With high expectations this turned out to be the worst Chinese food ever.

I wrote a five-star review of this restaurant in 2017 and had no reason to change that in the following years. we always went to lunch and ordered the menu with great success. recently we stopped for the first time, since kovid and were very disappointed. first the service was friendly but terrible. a person was served a couple of spring rolls, and then we waited, waiting and waiting. the main plates were brought, but no tear. then the suppe, which should be served first, came halfway through the meal. The food standards had fallen - how can both the chicken-Tai pan and the beef-tupfer-suey cost the same? and the beef was terrible-gristel. (the saving gnade was the suppe- as good as ever.) the manager did his best, and I praise him for it, but he is undermined by his infidel staff. Maybe the buffet is better, I don't know. I suspect that the expansion of a successful restaurant into a four-restaurant chain is the basis for this decline. but this place is no longer worth the trip from campbell river. we are not going back.

What happened? The Driftwood was always a go to favourite for Chinese, fresh crisp vegetables, not too greasy, Ginger beef was a treat. Now it’s all over battered, over sugar sauced, and soggy. The beef and broccoli was good. It has dropped into standard mediocrity....It is now a chain. Sigh.
