Seaton Lane Inn - County Durham

I don't give too many harsh reviews so not enjoying writing this one but this is what the site is all about, you have to be honest about your experience and if they don't know they won't change.This visit was really a rating, the one before was a and the one before that a so we have to be fair and average it out...but be warned, as the title says...getting worse on each visit and we won't be back for a good while till reviews improve.A couple of months ago we had a nice dinner here albeit a bit pricey. Last month was bang average and they messed the pudding order up completely. This time, the whole experience was awful.Sunday Dinners each time and on this visit the place was cold to the point we didn't take our coats off and the family opposite had their winter coats on throughout also.Staff previously really nice but this time just ok. Food was very poor. Watery gravy, watery cauliflower cheese, other veggies dry and uninspired. Meat was ok but wife's beef had big chunks of fat. Two insipid roast potatoes, no mash. Fair play to the bloke behind who insisted on more spuds. For us, complaining was just going to extend a poor experience and we just wanted out of there so finished and left.Shame as it's been nice before and has a nice feel/atmosphere normally but plenty of other places to choose from so won't be back for a good while.

I only had a nice meal. sirloin for me pig fillet for the woman. very tasty and at a good price. I've made it up that the beer is expensive. how wrong they were. £3:00p a pint for cool tetleys. we will visit again without doubt. Oh, the staff is beautiful.

Today was the first time we visited the seaton inn, we will return definitiw. I had the souvlaki, it was delicious very full, my daughter (11) had the child meal, twice cooked chips, black sausage gravy, meal came with a drink egg for only £6.50 all the staff were friendly, the service was fast. highly recommended

Yesterday afternoon, the day of reopening, enjoy eating and drinking in the seaton lane inn. the new menu is excellent as the new layout that makes the whole thing open while still a feeling of cozyness. the best part? the personal. everyone welcomed them and the feeling of proud, legitimately, they receive from them after refit is obvious. in any case a return trip and perhaps one of the best restaurants in seaham.

We loved our stay here absolutely. the rooms were well furnished, fresh and fulfilled all our needs. the service of the staff was fantastic! we ordered eating and could take it into our room and we loved that this place dog was friendly! great location and a reasonable price. we would stay here in the future.
