Contribuiți la feedbackFantastic eating, personal and atmosphere could not be made to feel more of james and his team welcome, open microphone night on Wednesday night was a bonus to some great singers on. will be back on our next trip back to durham in a few. the week!
I appreciate this pub as my local, although he's 13 miles from where I live. it has an excellent selection of beer, nice eating, but best, excellent staff. it has come stronger than ever by switching off and large personal turnover. that is...in no small part because of the efforts of the new manager james and the new employee he hired. I am more than happy to make a round trip of over an hour to visit the week several times. I'd count the staff here as friends. excellent pub imho.
I love it, it’s such a good atmosphere and you will meet an amazing range of people. The drinks are slightly more expensive but that atmosphere makes up for that!
My twin brother Stephen and I were pub hopping around Durham when we chanced upon The Head Of Steam Pub, really pleased about this as I am a big fan of The Head Of Steam Pub chain, one in my home town of Liverpool were my...twin brother Stephen and I are frequent visitors, whatever town or city we visit we always keep an eye peeled for an outlet, this one in Durham was really good. Loved the look of this Head Of Steam Pub, a wonderful interior, pubby decor and furnishings, eclectic wall art, an eye catching serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside plus an upstairs outside terrace, its just a great pub to unwind in. My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Thursday evening, pub was busy with a great atmosphere, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of the bar team, a quick study of their real ale's and we both opted to have Motorhead Road Crew American pale ale , these were poured and served in excellent condition by staff who are so Knowledgeable about their beers, we luckily managed to get a table outside were we just kicked back, chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub. My pale ale was really good, a crisp, well balanced pale ale, hints of toffee and a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a slight bitter finish, a classic pale ale so tasty and refreshing on such a glorious evening, my twin brother Stephen also gave me a thumbs up to his pale ale. We both really enjoyed our pale ale's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting for a first time visit to this particular Head Of Steam Pub we were totally impressed. This Head Of Steam Pub is easy to locate along North Road. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, Midday till 11pm. A wonderful pub if you're planning a trip to Durham most definitely well worth checking out.
