Gills Fry Fry - County Durham

Absolutely terrible. Cold hard chips. Greasy fish. Cold donner meat swimming on an oil soaked wrap. What a waste of £22. Waited 10-15 minutes, not sure what for as there was only 6 people in the shop.

Ordered from here for years. Last few times the pizza has been terrible. Too much tomato on the base and Unsure if they’ve changed the cheese but it doesn’t seem like it’s melted properly. Last time only managed one slice and threw the rest. Such a shame as it was our go to for a takeaway

Food was just ok. My regular cod was exactly the same size as my son’s small. Batter was slimy but the fish was nice. Chips ok. Was charged a 10% ‘service charge’ for the privilege of sitting in not sure what service we got for this as the table was dirty, you had to collect food from the counter and there was a sign asking you to clear your own table. Food was still provided in takeaway cartons with plastic cutlery. Prices for sides/drinks were obscene. Tried this place as Downey’s was busy and Gill’s had plenty of tables free now I know why!
