It belongs to the family, and everyone works really well together. Excellent service aside, the food was to die for! Everything was so delicate and cooked for perfection. Like a FlAVOR! I literally dream of some of the dishes I had here, and I am always excited to introduce new people for a real Persian experience. A must try!
Food is really good with good portion sizes. We ordered Zaferan family platter for 4 of us along with a side (Mirza Ghasemi) and it sufficed for all of us. It came with plenty of rice and thus it was a but dry, so we asked if we can get any garlic dip . We thought it 'd be just a condiment but we were served maast o mushir , a person yogurt blended with garlic and shallots. This was surprising to us as the waiter did not clarify we 'd be charged for it!! I 'm taking a star out for this.
Being from LA it’s hard to find great Persian food in Utah. Zaferan is it!! The service is amazing, the food is cooked perfectly every single time, and the staff is always friendly. The owners are so lovely as well! My chicken kabob is always the juiciest I have ever had at any Persian restaurant and the Gorme Sabzi is a must order as well. If you haven’t tried the Zereshk Polo, you are missing out!! I have dined in many times, ordered to go, and recently had them do a large take out order for a party I was hosting. The quality of the food and service is always the same no matter how you choose to dine with them! Thank you Zaferan for providing me with a little piece of home every time I eat here.
During my two visits to this restaurant, the food was outstanding. The chicken was full of flavor, the rice was light and fluffy, and the assorted dips with pita were simply addictive. If you live in the northern part of the valley, it's worth the trip to Cottonwood Heights – you definitely won’t regret it. Be sure to take the leftovers home; they make for a great breakfast!
I dined here last night and we began with three different dishes, including pomegranate and hummus. The food was seasoned to perfection, and we barely left anything on our plates. The meat wasn’t overcooked, and the basmati rice—often either overdone and dry or too mushy—was beautifully fluffy and cooked just right! The prices are very reasonable, and the restaurant was clean with ample seating, even on a Friday night. You can call ahead to reserve a table and ensure your group has a spot. The meal was so enjoyable that I’m definitely planning to return!
