Furthermore, there were several errors with the food orders, including receiving a seeded burger bun instead of the brioche bun that was listed on the menu. When we asked for a replacement due to an intolerance, the waitress blamed us for not informing her beforehand, despite the menu clearly stating the type of bun. In the end, we were overcharged for a children's meal, which was later justified by claiming an error on the menu. Overall, our experience at the restaurant was disappointing, and I believe the food quality and service did not live up to the standards set by other reviews. I had hoped to support a local establishment rather than a chain or popular eatery, but unfortunately, I regret choosing to dine at Lakeside. If you do decide to visit, be sure to double-check your bill, question any discrepancies, and be prepared for potential shortcuts taken by the kitchen.

I’ve visited Lakeside multiple times now and it never fails to disappoint. It’s a great place for a coffee and a catch up, weekend brunch or evening dinner. Watching the water sports or the live music adds a great little extra to this unique venue. I’d recommend booking a table as it gets busy! The service is friendly and efficient, and the food has greatly improved in recent years. Couldn’t recommend more.

I booked a table for Saturday brunch during our weekend away. We arrived to a friendly welcome and were seated quickly, when we ordered we got offered a table by the window that had just vacated; We gladly moved to allow us to sit and enjoy the beautiful lake views in the sunshine thank you! I ordered the GF pancakes and my partner ‘The Lakeside’ breakfast and they were able to make this DF and had oat milk for him to enjoy a coffee. Our meals took a little while to arrive, but they were very busy, we had asked for dietary amendments and we didn’t mine sitting and enjoying the views : Our meals were enjoyed and we thought the bill was very good for our brunch. Can’t fault the service but awful food. Clearly the people who rated this place 5 stars for the food don’t have great standards. I had the croquettes to start, cold in the middle, so not cooked properly….. then the chimichurri chicken which tasted like fish ?! served over some extremely oily chips. Probably a better venue for drinks as the location is nice, just wouldn’t recommend to eat here.
