Banana Bay - Costa Rica

We have declared 2 nights in the marina on the way to north to the costa rica coast. the service was excellent. eating in the restaurant was excellent. golfito harbour is extremely protected. no more peaceful as we continue to learn north what is a good thing. because the docks are a bit trickety.(just reason why I didn't have 5 stars). golfito was not overrun with tourism. very authentic place and we wanted us to stay longer.

We had breakfast here and lunch. the breakfast was cooked with the room and the eggs were ordered. I had a good day. others liked them, but I didn't, the cheese reminded me of cheese whisky. my man had the fritted...fish fingers and they were really crispy. he liked her very much.

You have to eat their famous bilge burger! It was delicious and huge. Awesome, friendly waitstaff too!

Very good food with a calm and comfortable view. Service was a little slow but in general it was very good.

On our first night, we dined at the restaurant and found it to be unremarkable, but expensive. Concerned about noise from the restaurant being close to our room, I asked a staff member if it ever got loud at night. She assured me that although it might sometimes, they close at 9 pm. However, the noise from a Christmas party being held for the staff that night kept us awake until after midnight. When I called to complain, they finally turned down the noise once the party ended and everyone went home. Feeling frustrated and unable to rest, we decided to cut our stay short and requested a refund. We were disappointed that we were not informed of the event beforehand, as we would have chosen to stay elsewhere.
