Took the Ski Lift to the top, explored the Alps and the WW1 trenches that we scattered throughout. After the history lesson, we enjoying an amazing lunch with the most breathtaking view. MUST DO!
Just in front of the 5 Torri, the view from the terrace is breathtaking. Make sure to reserve your table or you may have to wait. The food we had was delicious, the menu has both traditional dishes such as Casunziei and Spätzle but also typical Italian cuisine. We had tagliolini with venison and chanterelle ragu, homemade lilac pasta and my sister got the “Piatto Alpino” with grilled cheese, polenta, mushrooms and sausages. Don’t miss out the desserts, they’re totally worth it! Meringa Scoiattoli was extremely cute and decadent (pic attached), but if you want to be classy you can opt for a huge slice of cake with a scoop of whipped cream. Their chocolate cake was so soft and not excessively sweet. Prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly and we didn’t have to wait too long for our meal. I’d surely come back when visiting Cortina d’Ampezzo... maybe in winter. Keep up the great work!!
For a busy 'tourist ' destination at the top of a chair lift this was surprisingly excellent. The food was high quality (better than much in town): local beetroot raviloi and venison and wild mushroom pasta, served with charm and efficiency, the winelist was good and not expensive (Barbera excellent). They also provided hats against the sun. Basically it delivered exactly what was wanted maybe more
We took the lift up for lunch and ended up spending the afternoon hiking the gorgeous trails. Lunch menu was standard for the region (it felt like we saw the same things listed everywhere we went! , but very tasty and excellent service. The views alone are worth a trip here!
