Great place for dinner. The service was excellent. The food was tasty. I had the drum which was quite good and the blue cheese wedge salad which is always nice. We started with some raw oysters……so good. The calamari and hush puppies were also good. Everybody enjoyed their meal. I would come back if I were back in town.
In short: It's a nice looking restaurant with a disappointing, very limited, and relatively expensive menu. We were excited to go as We've lived in the area for many years. Always heard good things about the restaurant, but what we received didn't live up to the hype. Water is served in a cold carafe, but no ice. Our calamari appetizer was under seasoned. I had the seafood jambalaya and that was acceptable to good, but not for the price. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice. Mildly rustic, but classy at the same time. The service could have been quite a bit better and is the low point of this place. Had to wait over a half hour after our plates were taken from us to finally get our bill. Probably an off night for the wait staff, but it was not busy and impacted our experience. I personally wouldn't recommend it based off what I saw.
This week for the second time for dinner with the group. You can sit here downstairs and upstairs, but also on the outside terrace. Fast service. Tasty food. Parking: Own parking. There is limited space on the street, but large free parking lots are nearby. There is also a paid parking garage nearby.
I visited Water Street Oyster Bar for lunch around 12:30 PM and found the place quite busy. Since there was a wait for a table, I opted to sit at the bar. The bartender, Nicholas, took a few minutes to attend to me, but he was friendly and polite. My cocktail was served promptly, but I had to wait at least 35 minutes for my Padre Island Roll, which was frustrating. Unfortunately, the sushi roll was somewhat bland, with barely any shrimp, and the rice wasn’t sticky. Overall, it was a mixed experience.
