Contribuiți la feedbackWe stumbled upon this pub by accident while staying in the area and had a great time with the welcoming locals. The food was delicious and the cozy gas fire kept us toasty on a rainy November day.
We were a family of six and each of us had an incredible meal at this restaurant. I highly recommend trying the Pepper Steak, it's one of the best I've ever had!
Nice traditional pub at the front with light and airy restaurant area at the rear. Staff friendly, polite and efficient. The food was very good quality, cooked well. The most delicious onion rings I've ever had, definitely not out of the freezer. Reasonably priced too. No car park but on street parking was easy enough in October, may not be so easy in the height of summer.
We are staying at a hotel nearby for a week and decided to go out for an early dinner today. This was the closest pub and seemed very pleasant, welcoming with a lovely large beer garden to enjoy the late sunshine. The menu and daily specials board were appealing and not overwhelming like so many are. My husband and I shared a double tapas to start which was delicious. I ordered a carbonara from the specials board and my husband ordered the pork belly for mains. Half way through the starter I realised I would struggle to manage a main meal so asked if I could cancel my carbonara only if it wasn’t too late. The staff were attentive and polite and after checking with the kitchen, confirmed that it wasn’t a problem to cancel. My husbands pork belly main arrived which looked like a dish you’d expect from a Michelin Star restaurant and it didn’t disappoint… I can definitely say that it was the most delicious pork belly dish we’d ever tried. Absolutely perfect we’re definitely going back again a few times in the next week that we’re here and will be back in the future.
Friendly staff, amazing food, plenty of choice and a huge beer garden for sunny days top pick! We booked as we weren't sure whether it would be busy or not we could have got a table on spec as it turns out, but it did get busy and we were able to choose which room to be seated in (we chose dining room, but on seeing it we asked if there was space in the conservatory instead and they were happy to seat us there so light and airy in there). Food was fantastic really. A good range on the standard menu and a huge board of specials. We had the surf n turf tapas for 2 (main menu), followed by scallops and sausage mash (both specials) and it was flawless. We visited here after a trip to the Eden Project an easy commute from one to the other, maybe 15 or so minutes by car. On street parking was available.
