Great Trethew Manor

We made a reservation for a big family gathering. It can be challenging to accommodate large groups, but the restaurant did an excellent job! When we arrived for our Christmas meetup, it was enchanting to see trees adorned with laser lights and hear Christmas music playing. A cozy fire was burning at the entrance. Some members of our group were running late, but the staff were very accommodating and provided us with warm bread while we waited. We had preordered our meals, so everything arrived hot and at the same time. The food was delicious, and there was a good selection of desserts. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and we plan to return again. A big thank you to all the staff who were wonderful.

I visited this restaurant for the first time tonight for the early bird special. I was immediately impressed by the stunning Christmas decorations and beautiful light show on the grounds. The restaurant had a warm and cozy atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and helpful. They genuinely seemed to enjoy their work. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, with generous portions that left everyone's plates clean. It was nice to see the owner at the bar as well. I would definitely return and recommend this restaurant to anyone who will listen!

During a visit to see family nearby, we went to this restaurant to take advantage of their Thursday special offering two courses for £9.95. At the time, children ate for free, although I have heard that now it is £1 per child. Even so, it is still an amazing deal! There were many choices on the menu, and the portion sizes for both adults and children were generous. The quality of the food was excellent for the price, making it a great option for families dining out on a budget. The apple and berry crumble was particularly delicious, especially with a dollop of clotted cream on top. It really made my day. The staff were friendly and attentive, taking good care of us during our meal.

Literally a 5-minute drive from our home and buried in a lovely countryside setting with good views and vast gardens to explore. Also, many, and I mean, many, Peacocks, and peahens quietly wandering around on the raised lawns adjacent to the Hotel. I had the steak pie with mixed veg, and my wife had crab with salad. Our friends had Duck leg and veg, and Pork loin with veg. Three out of four plates were emptied and my wife enjoyed her crab but could not finish the salad. She has a small appetite lately. Although they have a good selection of desserts we had no room. There is crab cake on the starter list and in future if they are on the menu my wife would choose a starter and a dessert. We hope to visit soon for their Sunday Carvery which I believe is £10 per head. We had one previously and were very impressed. They are popular and booking is strongly advised.

Lovely ambiance and good Sunday lunch. Staff very friendly. It was really good value. We will all be back.
