Managed it this time and we had bacon and egg butties, all good and tasty. Coffee OK and the owner is very friendly and accommodating. Well-placed for a quick stop as you travel back up country.
While traveling to Northampton, we came across a fantastic restaurant that we had noticed many times before. The food was freshly prepared and the 5-inch burger was cooked to perfection and incredibly delicious. Unfortunately, they were out of chips due to a broken fryer, but the waitress kindly offered to heat up some from the nearby Spar. However, we declined once we saw the size of the burger! Even though I'm not usually a fan of burgers, this diner exceeded all expectations and outshined other high street diners. The menu was impressive, featuring options like vegetable curry and chicken curry. I can't praise this place enough – it's a must-visit for hot, tasty food in a great setting. Just keep in mind that they don't open on weekends, so plan your trip for Monday to Friday.
If you're passing through Cornwall, make sure to stop at this lovely diner (And even if you're not travelling to Cornwall, plan a visit anyway even it its just to eat at Charlie Browns! So, the short version is my Husband and I loved eating our lunch in this quirky and fun retro American Diner on a double decker London bus! Fantastic staff, tasty and good value food and drinks and lovely locals! It was one of the highlights of our trip! The longer version... My Husband and I were looking for lunch and pulled into a service station for a sandwich or similar, when to our delight and excitement, we saw Charlie Browns double decker London bus diner! A lovely black and white cow statue wearing a fetching red waistcoat and eating an ice cream (why not? stands proudly outside. Inside, the bus is like a tardis! I have no idea how they managed to fit a kitchen and stools downstairs (yes, I know, by removing the seats, but you know what I mean! Upstairs, some of the seats have been kept, with tables inserted. There's also an American Diner vibe with a black and white tiled floor and stools with seats made to look like Coca Cola bottlenose! The staff are so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The staff and fellow customers felt like friends by the time we left! And the food! All freshly made, cooked to order and extremely good value! My Husband and I had a lovely bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich with thick, handcut bread and chips! All very tasty. I also indulged in a frothy chocolate milkshake made with Cornish ice cream! The menu also offered huge hot dogs with lots of toppings, breakfast baps and more. A selection of hot and cold drinks, crisps and sweet treats were also on offer. I think you might have guessed already, but my Husband and I love Charlie Browns and hope to return one day. Highly recommended! I would give all the stars! Amazing and so much fun
Enjoyed our first visit. Great breakfast on the upper deck. Friendly staff. Somewhere really different!
Me and my husband ate here for the first time during the Aug bank holiday weekend this year. The food was fantastic and the staff were really friendly and pleasant. I still have dreams about their cajun chicken wings. They also had a special cocktail menu which were really tasty and strong. We ordered 2 cocktails, 2 starters and 2 mains (one of which was sirloin steak) and the total came up to about 50£. It was well worth the money. Next time we go to Eastbourne, this is definitely going to be a stop for us.
