Royal Garden Chinese - Cornwall

Chinese food is always hit and miss. You can visit the same restaurant 3 times and have 3 different experiences. I always found this from this kind of restaurant. Today was a decent meeting. We ordered for 18 people. It was ready... on time and it was still hot when we got it home. Most foods were pretty good. The chicken balls and the Jumbo shrimps were a little soggy. The price was excellent. $296. And we had many leftovers.

The Royal Garden offers some of the best Chinese food in PEI. Now I have to qualify this statement. When I say the best, I mean Chinese food in North American style. If you're looking for what we think is Chinese food, then this place has it. However, if you are looking for authentic Chinese cuisine, there are places that offer a more authentic menu. The ingredients are very fresh and the taste is quite good. Some of these restaurants can meet and miss, but the Royal Garden has been quite consistent.

I don't like posting negative business, but since this isn't the first time it happened in this restaurant I think. Tonight, since it was Mother's Day weekend, we decided to eat from China. We always go to the...Royal Garden in Cornwall because the food is good there. We got our orders home to find out that an order was missing all chicken balls and the egg roll..so the combi plate #4 had rice and garlic ribs in the container.. I called and told them and was told that they would be able to welcome us with the chicken balls and egg rolls for the next time or go back to pick it up. I explained that borrowing for something that should be in order anyway was not enough and told them that it was mother's day weekend and all. The girl was told to offer us that as compensation for the missing items we paid. I told her that the 1 meal should be credited. She apologized and told me they could do anything. I do not think that this is a great compensation for our problems with meal with a big mistake. How do they feel for good customer relationships? How to find the price of the missing chicken balls..what do they do for or 5 chicken balls..it's not even a sequence of chicken balls. I know the egg rolls are individually inexpensive. I told her they probably lost our business... This is not the first time that this happened to us with missing items. She just said they're gonna do everything. So the terrible review on Facebook tonight. This is a rant, but I feel frustrated.. Some places simply do not know how to treat a customer.. I'm very dissatisfied.

This restaurant has good food, but they definitely have problems to answer the phones. I don't know if they just take the phone out of the hook, or just don't answer disturbingly. As good as the food is, it is not always worth dealing with the phone...problems. I'll look for another restaurant, someone who can answer their phones....

This place will take their phone off the hook and make you drive in to place a take out order. Serve staff informed us it’s what the owner wants them to do. Very poor way to conduct service. When we got there and ordered they...had one table and informed us that our food would be done in 15min. Won’t be giving this poorly managed place anymore money.
