Dashi - Cork

Small Japanese restaurant with nice food at a reasonable price.

Perfect little spot on a rainy day I asked at the counter for vegan options, and the staff member there was a little thrown initially. We settled on a selection of vegan sushi and a small bowl of miso soup in the end. Both were delicious, and I was very happy with my food. Space is at a premium, though, so I wouldn't recommend coming in with several shopping bags and an umbrella on a miserable day. However, it's a cosy place and once you're seated, it's kinda hard to leave. I love coming here, and it's somewhat of a Cork institution by now. Well worth supporting a small, local business rather than going for some big chain food which you can get anywhere.

I've always liked Dashi and enjoyed their curries and sushi. But after I started working in the city I began heading their on breaks and absolutely fell in love. The food is so lovely and staff are so kind and thoughtful and just add to the overall warm environment. Dashi has now become one of my fave spots and is such a great break from work.

The tempura prawn temaki is my favourite food ever! Small casual little place, a hidden gem. Sit in or take away, lovely delivered too for a night in but order ahead of time.

Very good sushi, many fish. I had my birthday, and I was given a gift by one big rock.
