Contribuiți la feedbackWe were in the area and called for a table on Saturday night. We got one and we're going! It's a big room, we were filled with a few tables early. We were allowed to choose where to sit... I always appreciate it. Excellent service. Good recommendation on sparkling rosé. We tried a new one and it was very good! Sad can't remember the name, but I think it started with P?!? There is a great sound tasting and wine pairing menu that was tempting but we were not long on time so .... We shared two delicious appetizers ... taste and textures of mushrooms and (my favorite beetroot gnocchi. I'd eat him again. Main course was a well cooked chorizo de bife... excellent apart from the fact that it was cut. Apparently, this is unacceptable to an Argentine man. Not mine. He ate everything! My fish was delicious. A large delicious bowl I rated 100% for taste, but not for the bowl! I like bowls active when they do not contain soup. When we left the place, he was full and dizzy. I'm looking forward to our next visit.
If you live in El Centro de Córdoba, the restaurant is a long taxi ride outside the city. But my wife and I are both glad we made the trip. The tasting menu was excellently fresh, imaginative, with great technical skill, but... more importantly made with love. Fantastic, friendly, attentive service. Some critics commented that the portions are small. Small portions are always one of my pet Peeves when we go to the tasting menu. You should never pay top dollar and then leave a restaurant hungry. But in this case I think the criticism is unfounded... I left the restaurant full and happy. The wine pairings were all very good, some more inspired than others. The restaurant serves no cocktails. I wanted a martini before dinner, but they couldn't give me one. This is very strange when you look at the quality or the restaurant. Overall time is very worthwhile.
We came to this restaurant at the end of our 3 weeks stay in Argentina. It was absolutely amazing. The quality and service are simply perfect. You can order a la carte or make the tasting menu with a wine selection. Go for the tasting...menu: it is top class and you leave many excellent wines. We've paid 1600 peso each. It is worth it!
The decor and the atmosphere are very pleasant, the service and the quality of the good is great. However, the portions are very small, which calls into question the price point, which is a shame, otherwise this is a good restaurant.
Each plate that comes out of Miguel Escalante's kitchen is not only a delicious feast on your palate, but also such a such a culinary jewel that you sit there wondering for a little while if you should eat it or find a way to...frame his beautiful dishes and take them home to hang on your walls. The staff at Republica is equally as amazing, everyone is extremely professional and knowledgeable yet friendly and warm. I highly recommend Republica to anyone that has an appreciation for fine dining and/or great food cooked with love, skill, and attention to detail. This restaurant is truly a gem in Cordoba's thriving food scene and, if it was in Europe, it would most likely had already earned a well-deserved Michelin star.
