The place is not beautifully decorated and not in a commercial area. The food was very good and the service was formal and appropriate. I would try other options again. The bad thing is that they only accept cash...
It is a very old restaurant in Cordoba, the only problem is that it seems that its cook has a small problem with oscillating hair...
Very traditional family Trattoria, in the old downtown Cordoba. Probably the best Italian cuisine in the city.
Was looking for a restaurant close to my hostel, and found this place fairly quickly. It looked OK, and tried the door only to find it locked. I could see other diners inside, so I persevered for a few minutes, and a staff member soon...came to let me in. Throughout my meal (Lunch Time I noticed that all the patrons had to go through this screening (nobody was turned away, but a few were ignored.. Most of the diners were obviously locals, and rang the bell (located about four metres to the right of the entry, about three metres high, pulse once, and they will let you in right away! . The service was excellent, and my wine order was brought right away. (The wine list is also excellent, and very well priced! I chose an Etchart Privado Torrontes (AR$45 , which was ice cold and very passable, although not amazing. With it came a large basket of fresh rolls and packaged breadsticks, accompanied with some really fresh marinated roasted eggplant, (no charge . The menu is very heavy on a large selection of different fresh pastas and sauces, but I went for the Suprema Maryland . (AR$122 This was a mistake, what I got was a (large chicken milanesa (breaded cutlet with a slice of canned pineapple, some very overcooked (probably canned peas, some corn and bread pudding (which surprised me, as it tasted waay better than it appeared! and french fries (at least home made, and reasonably recently! . Most of the other diners were opting for various pastas, which appeared to come universally as a bowl full of wet noodles, topped with the chosen garniture, and grated cheese. Not very Italian . However, the place quickly filled up with mostly a local clientele, so it is obviously popular. The place was clean, as was the bathroom, which even had a toilet seat and soap! I would have rated this restaurant higher, if the mains had been more imaginative, but the price was right, and for me, at least, so was the location!
