Au Grain De Sel - Corcieux

Nothing special I don't understand the many reviews. We were out for lunch with friends. We had the dinner of the day, it was easy, really nothing to praise. The meat was dry, the salad sauce industrial, as well as the dessert. The service was very friendly. The Auberge is appealing and Ideal for an aperitif in the beautiful garden.

We were staying in Corcieux and went to explore the small town. We had a drink in the very friendly little bar and as we like to support local businesses when we travel we spotted the Au Grain De Sel and went in to book a table. We were greeted by a very pleasant lady who took our booking for the following evening. However, when we returned the following evening we were met by the same lady who told us that we could not have a table if we had not booked we told her we had spoken to her the evening before but she appeared to have forgotten. We were seated in the restaurant and other diners came into the restaurant and were also seated. Our order was taken after every other table in the restaurant and we waited an hour and twenty minutes with our twelve year old daughter and her friend until our food was finally served. Three of our meals were very good but my husbands was very disappointing he had ordered the mixed grill and received a portion of chips and a skewer with one small sausage, a rasher of bacon and a very small piece of boned chicken! Everyone on our table gave my husband food from their meals!! very disappointing and when my husband attempted to make a constructive comment he was dismissed out of hand! We have travelled and eaten in France for many years and have a great love for the country because of the people we have met and the great food and service I sincerely hope this unfortunate experience is a one off in this fabulous country!

Small stop on the road to Christmas markets, we stopped by chance in this very friendly hostel. What a surprise to find a menu of the day (price dish dessert salad cheese) at 13,50€ that has enjoyed us from beginning to end. The service is great and really pleasant. Thank you, Madame, for your smile and your good mood. It's without hesitation a wonderful discovery, not to miss. Too bad we're not in the sector or we'd be back without hesitation.

Very nice boss. Good flambée pie and gourmet coffee. I highly recommend.
